ABOUT PERFRIG

A Note From The Founder

I built my first gaming PC in 2019. Spent weeks reading reviews, watching videos, comparing specs. Bought an RTX 2070 Super based on a “highly recommended” review. Three months later, the RTX 3070 launched at the same price with 40% more performance.

The review never mentioned the upcoming launch. The site knew. They just didn’t tell readers because NVIDIA’s marketing cycle didn’t allow it.

That experience cost me hundreds of dollars. I started PERFRIG so it won’t cost you the same.

We buy our hardware. We run our tests. We tell the truth—even when it costs us review samples, advertising deals, or industry relationships. If you’re spending your money on a GPU, you deserve honest information from people who actually care.

We cut through marketing hype to deliver honest, testing-backed insights that help you make smarter hardware decisions and squeeze every frame from your gaming rig.

What makes us different

🔬
We test everything ourselves Every benchmark, every FPS count, every temperature reading comes from our own testing rigs. When we say the RTX 5070 Ti hits 187 FPS in Marvel Rivals at 1440p, we ran that test. No recycled press releases, no cherry-picked manufacturer data.
💰
We’re honest about value A 6/10 rating isn’t a failure—it’s reality. We rate products on what they deliver for the money, not on specifications sheets or how much manufacturers paid for positive coverage.
🗣️
We speak your language Gaming PC content doesn’t need to read like a doctoral thesis. We explain technical concepts clearly, skip unnecessary jargon, and focus on what actually impacts your gaming experience.
🎯
We cover what matters No clickbait. No “10 crazy facts” lists. We write about GPU launches when they happen, optimization guides when games launch broken, and buying guides when you’re actually shopping.

What we don’t do

🚫

We don’t accept payment for reviews

Manufacturers don’t pay for coverage. Ever. We maintain editorial independence completely. If we can’t afford to buy hardware for testing, we don’t review it. This sometimes means later reviews, but it always means honest reviews.

🔗

We don’t use affiliate links deceptively

When articles include product links, it’s because we genuinely recommend those products based on testing or research. We don’t recommend inferior products because they pay higher affiliate commissions. Our recommendations don’t change based on what manufacturers want to move.

📈

We don’t exaggerate results

“5X faster performance!” claims get verified, not repeated. If optimization delivers 15% FPS gains, we report 15%—not “dramatically faster” or “game-changing.” Realistic expectations help you make better decisions.

💼

We don’t write sponsored content

No “presented by” articles. No manufacturer-funded guides. No thinly disguised advertisements. Every article reflects our actual opinions based on testing and research, not what someone paid us to say.

Our content philosophy

Quality over quantity

We’d rather publish one thoroughly researched article per week than seven rushed pieces optimized for search algorithms. Every guide, review, and news piece receives multiple editorial reviews before publication. If content doesn’t meet our standards, it doesn’t publish.

🔄

Updates when it matters

🎯

Honest recommendations

You want truth, not marketing. A 6/10 GPU review helps you avoid a bad purchase more than a 9/10 given to everything.

📊

Real-world performance

FPS numbers matter more than specification sheets. You care whether games actually run smoothly, not whether the CUDA core count sounds impressive.

💵

Value analysis

You evaluate performance per dollar, not absolute performance. A $200 GPU beating a $300 competitor matters more than a $2,000 flagship being slightly faster than a $1,800 one.

🔬

Technical depth

You appreciate detailed explanations without condescension. We assume intelligence and curiosity, not that you need everything dummed down.

Practical advice

You need actionable information. Whether optimization actually works matters more than theoretical possibilities.

Transparency always

Respectful disagreement

We criticize products and companies, not people. Strong opinions about hardware value don’t require personal attacks on engineers, executives, or competing publications. We can call a GPU overpriced without being jerks about it.
