ASUS and Kojima Productions opened pre-orders for the ROG Flow Z13-KJP on February 24, 2026. The device ships March 3. Here’s what we know.
what it is and who made it
The ROG Flow Z13-KJP is a limited edition 2-in-1 gaming tablet built in collaboration between ASUS ROG and Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions. First announced at CES 2026, the device pairs ROG’s existing Flow Z13 hardware platform with a custom design developed alongside legendary artist Yoji Shinkawa, known for his work across the Metal Gear and Death Stranding franchises.
The aesthetic runs deeper than a skin. Shinkawa’s influence shows up in CNC-milled angular cutouts on the aluminum chassis referencing Ludens’ armor plating, actual carbon fiber with visible directional weave, and custom keycaps and laser-etched air vents. ASUS is positioning the design as a physical expression of the Kojima Productions philosophy: “From Sapiens to Ludens.”
It’s worth noting that this is a premium limited edition product with pricing to match. At $3,699.99 in the US, this is not a mainstream gaming laptop. It sits in the same tier as high-end workstation-class portables.
hardware under the hood
The Flow Z13-KJP runs the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor with Radeon 8060S graphics. The memory configuration is fixed at 128 GB LPDDR5X unified memory, using a shared memory architecture that pools CPU and GPU resources under one pool rather than separating them. That is a meaningful design choice for a device positioned for both gaming and AI workloads.
The display is a 13.4-inch ROG Nebula panel at 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1600), 180 Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and 500 nits brightness. Cooling is handled by a vapor chamber alongside dual Arc Flow fans in a chassis that also supports detachable keyboard use.
The timing is interesting, given that the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is AMD’s current flagship mobile APU. Pairing it with 128 GB of unified memory positions the Z13-KJP as a serious tool for LLM workloads and AI-assisted creative work, not just gaming. Kojima Productions explicitly targets “Ludens” as its audience: people who play, create, and experiment.
the bundle and what it includes
Every unit purchased includes a PC game code for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, redeemable via Armoury Crate starting March 19, 2026, when the PC version officially launches. At $69.99 on Steam, that code carries real value at purchase.
The retail bundle also includes a carrying case in matching Decennium Gold, a flight tag with dual ROG and KJP branding, a sticker sheet with “For Ludens Who Dare” designs, and a thank-you card featuring Yoji Shinkawa’s original developmental sketches of the device, with personal messages and signatures from both Kojima and Shinkawa.
ASUS is also launching a full KJP peripherals lineup sold separately: the ROG Delta II-KJP headset at $269.99, the ROG Keris II Origin-KJP mouse at $169.99, and the ROG Scabbard II XXL-KJP mousepad at $69.99. All three carry Shinkawa’s hand-drawn artwork.

Pre-orders opened February 24 in the US through the ASUS Store, Best Buy, B&H, AntOnline, and Abt, at 6:00 AM PST / 9:00 AM EST. Shipments begin March 3.
In India, pre-orders opened February 26 at noon local time, with in-store availability from March 4 across the ASUS eShop, Flipkart, Amazon, and authorized ASUS partners. Indian pre-orders include a 2-year warranty extension and 3 years of accidental damage protection.
In Australia, the device is priced at $6,999 AUD and is available exclusively through the official ASUS Online Store, with stock available from March 4.
What this means for buyers is straightforward: this is a global launch with regional pricing and availability staggered by a few days. If you are in a supported market, the device is orderable now.

The ROG Flow Z13-KJP enters a portable gaming market that increasingly blurs the line between gaming tablet, handheld, and creative workstation. The Ryzen AI Max platform is the same foundation used in competing premium handhelds, and ASUS is betting that the Kojima Productions collaboration brings a collector audience alongside the performance one.
Whether the $3,699 price point finds enough buyers will depend on how the collector premium lands. The hardware spec for the money is competitive for the class. The design and bundle are unlikely to appear anywhere else.
